Each year, the E-rate applicant survey provides a valuable opportunity for schools and libraries to share their voices—and shape the future of the E-rate program. As the 2025 survey approaches, here’s a look at what to expect.
The survey will continue to measure how well E-rate is delivering on its mission, including progress toward three key goals: increasing access to high-speed broadband, maximizing cost-effectiveness, and simplifying the application process. Applicants will also be invited to evaluate their satisfaction with USAC and EPC, and reflect on the challenges and opportunities facing their communities—from digital equity and off-campus connectivity to the critical role of Wi-Fi.
Respondents can weigh in on topics such as:
- The impact of E-rate on Internet speeds and connectivity
- The reliability of E-rate funding year over year
- The ease of use and functionality of the EPC portal
- Future bandwidth needs and the timing of Wi-Fi upgrades
- Interest in Category Two support and hotspot eligibility
- Views on the eligible services list and self-provisioned networks
This year’s survey also provides space for open-ended feedback, giving applicants the chance to share ideas, frustrations, and praise for the E-rate program.
